Abstract
Research result can be summed up as follows: 1) employees asserting high compensation and retention of employees categorized high enough. 2) test result the regression is Ŷ = 27,368 + 0,505X means the positive effect of compensation of employee retention. 3) result of r value = 0,626 means that there is a strong relationship and positive between compensation and employee retention at Harum Manis Pematangsiantar store. High low employee retention can be explained by compensation amounted to 39,2%. 4) Test the hypothesis is H0 rejected, Ha received, when thitung 4,252 > 2,048 ttabel with degrees of freedom n-2 (30-2=28) and significance value 0,000 < 0,05 meaning that compensation is a positive and significant effect or employee retention on Harum Manis Pematangsiantar store.
As for the suggestion of the study result concluded that to increase the compensation, company can improve employee bonuses in order to work optimally. To increase retention of employees, company should be open to the level of our rank career employees.
