Abstract

The formulation of this research problem is how the influence of leadership style and work
ethic on employee job satisfaction at PT Taspen (Persero) KC Pematangsiantar. The method used in
this paper is literature research and field research. The population is all employees of PT Taspen
(Persero) KC Pematangsiantar which amounted to 41 people. The data used are qualitative data and
quantitative data, and data collection techniques used are questionnaire method, interview method and
documentation method. Then the technique of data analysis using qualitative descriptive method and
quantitative descriptive method.
Results of analysis of multiple linear regression is Ŷ = 8.555 + 0.678 X

, meaning
leadership style and work ethic have a positive effect on employee job satisfaction. Correlation analysis
results obtained r = 0.773 means there is a high correlation between leadership style and work ethic
with employee job satisfaction. From the coefficient of determination can be explained high and low
employee job satisfaction of 59.8% and the remaining 40.2% explained by other factors not discussed
in the study. From the results of the processing and calculation of the questionnaire, the authors get
the conclusion that the leadership style and work ethic applied by PT Taspen (Persero) KC
Pematangsiantar have positive and significant impact on employee job satisfaction. This is proved by
simultaneous hypothesis testing, where the test fcount (28.225) > ftable (3.24) with a significance level
of 0.000 < alpha 0,05.
