PENGARUH KEPUASAN KERJA TERHADAP RETENSI KARYAWAN PADA PT BUMI SARI PRIMA PEMATANGSIANTAR

The purpose of this research is to examine an analysis of : 1) The description of job satisfaction and
employee retention at PT Bumi Sari Prima Pematangsiantar. 2) The influence of job satisfaction against the
retention of employees at PT Bumi Sari Prima Pematangsiantar.
The research was done using qualitative descriptive method and quantitative descriptive. The
population in this research is all employees at PT Bumi Sari Prima Pematangsiantar totaling 117 (one hundred
and seventeen) and the sample is 91 (ninety one) employees. The independent variable is job satisfaction and the
dependent variable is employee retention. Data was collection through questionnaire, interview, and
documentation. Data analysis technic is using simple linear regression, coefficient of correlation and
determination, and hypothesis test.
The result of this research showed us: 1) Employee stated quite satisfied with job satisfaction and
employee retention is considered quite high. 2) The result of regression testing is Ŷ= 26,744 + 1,289X, means
this research have a positive effect between job satisfaction and employee retention. 3) Result of r = 0,760,
means that there is a strong and positive relationship between job satisfaction and employee retention at PT
Bumi Sari Prima Pematangsiantar. High low average employee retention 57,8% can be explained by job
satisfaction in PT Bumi Sari Prima Pematangsiantar. 4) Hypothesis Ha received, means that job satisfaction is
positive and significant effect agints the retention of employees at PT Bumi Sari Prima Pematangsiantar.
